Central Park in collaboration with Bangkok Design Week 2026 is hosting the Central Park Design for Bangkok event from January 29 to February 8, 2026, unveiling the design and development process of the Dusit Central Park project under the concept of Design for Bangkok. This initiative aims to integrate the project into the city and the lives of its people, drawing inspiration from the Silom area, the lush greenery of Lumphini Park, and the legacy of the Dusit Thani Hotel in Bangkok, setting a new standard for mixed-use projects through collaboration between two leading organizations and a network of global designers to sustainably elevate Bangkok.

A key highlight is the Central Park Design Talk: Designing the Future of Bangkok, featuring a panel discussion between Khun Khuniyut Dechudom, Asset Director of Central Park, and Khun Siradet Thonwanit, Vice President of Global Hotel Business Development at Dusit International. The topic, Design for Bangkok: From Collaboration to Vision, shares insights into the collaboration between Central Pattana and Dusit Thani in transforming a unique piece of land in the heart of Bangkok into a meaningful, sustainable space that can deliver long-term value.

Khun Khuniyut Dechudom stated, “Throughout the development of the project, we have opened up spaces for all sectors to engage in close discussions and exchanges of perspectives to help define directions, tackle challenges, and seek new opportunities together. Here for Bangkok is not just a marketing slogan; it is embedded in our entire process from planning and design to actual project development, reflecting the power of collaboration between global teams and Thai designers. It also provides a platform for Thai talents to showcase their abilities, especially in landscape architecture, which can achieve international standards.”

Meanwhile, Khun Siradet Thonwanit, Vice President of Global Hotel Business Development at Dusit International, remarked, “Our intention is not just to create a project with outstanding architecture but to develop a space where people feel connected. Just by seeing the project, one can immediately recognize that ‘this is Bangkok.’ Every element is designed specifically for this area, from architecture and public spaces to user experiences, to truly reflect the identity of the city. We aim to develop it into more than just a landmark; it should be a part of people's lives, a space that connects the city, nature, and lifestyle, with a focus on ‘people’ at the center, as this project is meant to be part of Bangkok and grow sustainably with its people in the long term.”

Khun Juthatham Jirathiwat, Head of Business & Design Development at Central Pattana, shared insights into the design process of the Master Plan that integrates Retail, Residence, Office, and Hotel. “We do not see architects merely as building designers but as creators of spaces and urban systems that allow people to connect. What I am most proud of is the vision ‘Here for Bangkok’ that was established from the beginning, which has now come to fruition, allowing everyone to fully experience both Central Pattana and Dusit Thani through a project that is genuinely part of the city and the lives of its people.”

Additionally, leading thinkers and designers from both Thailand and internationally behind the Dusit Central Park project are sharing new perspectives on designing Bangkok. This includes Khun Natthapanu Sriyuktsiri, who delves into the design of MICHEL VAN DE KAR from OMA, and Khun Somkiat Lohachindapong from A49, who reflect on the origins of the Master Plan and the experimental architectural forms as a new prototype of a project ready to grow with Bangkok. This is complemented by insights into interior design by BRIAR HICKLING, Co-founder of Linehouse, the interpretation of the heritage of the Dusit Thani Hotel in Bangkok by Khun Kanitha Patanapannichakul, Design Director at dwp, the design process of the green structure of the sky garden by Khun Tachapon Suntharajarn from Landscape Collaboration, and the role of art in architectural spaces by Khun Harit Thamprapach, an artist from Infinite Riot, reflecting a vision of a city driven by people, quality of life, and sustainability.

The event saw a lively turnout, along with activities such as the Exhibition & The Landmark on the first floor of Central Park, allowing visitors to experience the urban design process.

  • The Landmark Art Installation, standing 7 meters tall, encapsulates the DNA of Dusit Central Park, featuring the distinctive curves of the zigzag façade and the unique fountain shape of the Dusit Thani Hotel in Bangkok. The front showcases a three-dimensional pattern, while the back is crafted with architectural and decorative motifs of Central Park, created by Infinite Riot, one of the local artists from Bangkok Design Week 2026, along with the opportunity to observe the artistic creation from the artist's perspective.
  • Exhibition: Exploring the City Through Design unveils the Design Behind the Scene, detailing the planning process, urban context interpretation, and revealing design aspects that have never been disclosed before.
  1. Build Your Central Park: A block-building activity inspired by the unique architecture of Central Park, such as squares, zigzag façades, and escalators, allowing participants to learn about the design concepts through hands-on experience.
  2. Central Park Passport: A stamp-collecting activity from three iconic points of the project, including the skyhall on the first floor, the entrance to The Roof Park on the fourth floor, and the escalator on the first floor, learning about the design stories of each area. Once completed, participants will receive a complete image and a special souvenir to take home.
  3. Breathe the Park: A sensory experience activity that allows participants to smell flowers and plants from the sky garden, feeling the intention behind the garden's design for fresh air in the heart of Bangkok.

Central Park invites everyone to experience urban design that connects people, ideas, and lifestyles for the quality of life and future of Bangkok in the long term.
